From Bar Buddies to Super Bowl Cheers: My Unforgettable Night with George Kittle and Nick Bosa

A couple of years ago, I found myself speaking at a conference nestled in a luxurious resort in West Virginia, where the San Francisco 49ers were also staying between their back-to-back East Coast games.

The resort was packed with people from the conference, the 49ers organization, and random guests, so trying to find a table at a dining spot was nearly impossible unless you had prior reservations, weeks in advance. So, my wife and I ended up perched in two of four seats at the bar of this swanky, exclusive restaurant.

Just as we settled in, a hand gently rested on my shoulder, and a casual voice chimed in, “Hey dude, mind if we join you?” I turned around, and there they were, George Kittle and Nick Bosa, asking if they could join us.

As we shared stories and indulged in fine dining, I couldn’t help but be impressed by their genuine kindness and generosity. We spent the evening visiting about life, family, and George showing us pictures of the new retaining wall his landscaper built.

Little did we know that sitting up at that bar would kickstart an unforgettable night filled with laughter, friendship, and incredible conversation.

After those few days in West Virginia, I realized I hadn’t just become a fan of George Kittle but a friend, so I can’t help but jump aboard the 49ers’ bandwagon as Super Bowl weekend is here. For me, the Super Bowl isn’t just about rooting for a team; it’s about rooting for the friends we’ve made along the way.

Go get ‘em, George and Nick!
